Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino counties have short Advantage menus (thinner after the 2026 exits), every Medigap carrier in California and the full Part D lineup. Providence St. Joseph in Eureka is the region’s hospital, specialty care means the Bay Area or Redding, and Partnership HealthPlan handles Medi-Cal. Original Medicare with a Medigap policy is what most of our North Coast clients end up choosing, and we say so.

Each system contracts with some Medicare Advantage plans and not others, and the lists change every October. With Original Medicare and a Medigap policy there is no network to check, except Kaiser, which is reached only through Kaiser Senior Advantage. We confirm your doctors before you enroll.
